"For Philip Guston" is a major work by the American composer Morton Feldman , written in 1984 in honor of his friend, the American artist Philip Guston. Like many of his compositions, the piece's duration is particularly extensive: four-and-a-half hours of music, without pause, in one movement. Feldman's work focuses on listening deeply to sound, for what it produces in our ears, in our bodies, in our minds.
